Spice Girls star Mel B signs 'six

Mel B has reportedly signed on to the new Netflix series Bear Hunt which will be fronted by Holly Willoughby and Bear Grylls.

The Spice Girl, 48, is said to have agreed to a six-figure sum to appear on the gruelling endurance show, which will see stars forced to rely on their survival skills to elude master adventurer Bear.

According to The Sun, Mel flew to Costa Rica this weekend to join the celebrity line-up as filming begins on the reality series, which is slated to premiere next year.

Mel has apparently told pals that she signed up for the show to fund her wedding to boyfriend Rory McPhee, 36, which will take place at St Paul's Cathedral in London.

Mel, who announced her engagement to Rory in November 2022, revealed she is planning to tie the knot at the iconic cathedral because she is an MBE.

She explained: 'As I have an MBE, I am allowed to marry at St Paul's. They only do a small number of weddings a year so we are on the waiting list.'

Mel said the Spice Girls are invited, but added: 'They won't be bridesmaids though, we are all too old.'

The singer's TV appearance will no doubt unnerve her Spice Girls bandmates, who may worry she will drop more bombshells about their group.  

The Spice Girls recently reunited at Victoria Beckham's 50th birthday celebrations at Oswald's private members club in London last weekend.

Mel was believed to have had a 'frosty' reunion with Geri Horner at the bash as it was claimed they had a ense exchange before keeping their distance, after Mel claimed in a recent interview that Geri has lied about her age.

Days after the party, Mel seeming addressed the speculation about her exchange with Geri on Instagram.

Mel seemed to have extended an olive branch, as she shared a group snap with her Spice Girls bandmates on Instagram.

She wrote: 'What an amazing girl power weekend with all my girls, i have soooo much love and respect for you ALL #friendshipneverends.'

Mel and Geri were reunited for the luxurious party held at Oswald's in London and posed together for a group shot with other band members Emma Bunton, Victoria and Mel C - though they were at opposite ends of the line.

But The Sun claimed that Geri, 51, and Mel B, 48, were feeling tense, after Mel claimed that Ginger Spice is not 51-years-old.

Despite travelling the world together in the band's heyday, Scary Spice claimed Geri always kept her passport close to her chest so she 'still doesn't know' how old she is.

And after the interview the pair are said to have kept a distance from each other at Victoria's party over the weekend - before Mel B reportedly tried to offer and olive branch.

A source told the publication: 'Mel tried to smooth things over with Geri at the party but it didn't go as planned. She was laughing it all off but Geri didn't seem interested in hearing what she had to say and wandered off.

'When it came to taking their group picture, Geri kept as far away from Mel as possible which was awkward to watch.

'Geri wanted to be there to celebrate ­and have a good laugh with everyone, not talk to Mel about the embarrassing things she's said about her.'

In the caption she noted that she has 'so much love and respect' for all of her Spice Girls bandmates

The group consisted of Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton and Geri Horner (seen in 1995 in London)

Later in the night during the lavish festivities, all five of the Spice Girls came together to sing one of their hit tracks, Stop, for the star-studded guests - and again the pair were separated

Representatives for Mel B declined to comment to MailOnline.

Bear Hunt, which will reportedly star Mel, will see a group of celebrities taught a series of survival skills with seasoned adventurer, Bear Grylls.

Bear will then chase the stars through the jungle in a bid to catch them before they can get to the end of the show and win. 

Other stars who are slated to appear include retired rugby pro Danny Cipriani. 

Netflix have said of the show: 'Bear believes there's an action hero inside us all — even the celebs — but how strong is their will to survive?

'As Bear puts them through their paces, those who fail to impress will face the dreaded 'Bear Hunt' — a brutal game of cat and mouse where they'll be hunted down and, if captured, eliminated from the show.'
